Hey there! I'm Rita, and I understand how you are feeling so well because I have been in your shoes before.
I started loving to organize things at the end of 2019. It all began when I was expecting my first child and getting our home ready for the baby. We lived in a small apartment in Cascais, Portugal, with one bedroom, limited space, and way too many things.
That's when I started looking into ways to tidy up and learned about home organization. I really liked it, began following expert organizers on Instagram, and tried out all the ideas that worked for us. Around that time, I discovered Marie Kondo and KonMari, who I've always found fascinating and inspiring.
In 2022, while working full-time in Norway, I took a chance and began formal training in Organization. It was through workshops and training in this field that I discovered my true passion: organizing homes and assisting others in creating lighter and more peaceful lives by organizing their spaces.
Alone in Norway with my husband and no family or support with two small children, the organization has an even greater weight to be able to get everywhere: managing two organization businesses and being a mother of two very mischievous little ones.
My Cheerful Place is like my third child, a project I truly love. It lets me bring joy and peace to all the parents who reach out to me. I aim to support them, listen to their worries without any judgment, and assist in getting them and their home ready for the wonderful yet demanding time of welcoming a baby or raising kids.
Besides My Cheerful Place, I founded Academia da Organizadora. Here, I help fellow professional organizers set up their businesses and provide training in residential organization.
